HISTORY by Tony
Howe:
The Natchez Columbia & Mobile Railroad, owned by the
Butterfield Lumber Co., reached Verna about 1909 and
established a station here. A depot measuring 16' by 24',
with a 16'x24' platform, was built at Verna in 1913. A stock
pen was also built here. |
