HISTORY by Tony Howe:
Glade had a post office from 1893 to 1903, but the railroad first listed
it as a flag stop in May 1901. The post office closed until February 1904,
and operated until closing for good in 1908 after the sawmill located here
closed. The railroad later built a spur further north, calling it Glade in
March 1917.
