History by Gil Hoffman:

The Williamsburg Lumber Company was incorporated at Collins, Covington County, on June 5, 1900 by N. B. Shelby, W. S. Pettis, W. C. Wood and John Anderson with authorized capital stock of $25,000. Original officers were W. C. Wood, of Collins, president; N. B. Shelby, of Ellisville, vice president, and W. S. Pettis, secretary and treasurer. A sawmill of 60,000 feet daily cutting capacity was built at Collins. The company produced longleaf yellow pine lumber, specializing in kiln dried flooring, ceiling and finishing as well as car sills and bridge timbers up to 50 feet long.

In September 1908 the entire operation was sold to the Silverthorne interests of Buffalo, New York, who reorganized the company as the "Okatoma Saw Mill Company." At the time of the sale N. B. Shelby was president of the Williamsburg Lumber Company. He was also president of a bank in Ellisville.
