HISTORY by Tony Howe: Hines Junction, located 1.79 miles east of
Lumberton, was the location that the Mississippi Southern RR joined the
G&SI, and had trackage rights over the G&Si to reach the Edward
Hines Yellow Pine Co sawmill in Lumberton. Logging spurs were originally
built both north and south from what later became Hines Jct. by the Hinton
Brothers Lumber Co. several years earlier.
