History by Gil Hoffman: The Leakesville Lumber Company was incorporated at Leakesville, Greene County on May 11, 1906, by J. J. McInnis, H. E. McInnis, L. Evans and J. J. Croom with authorized capital stock of $50,000. J. J. McInnis was president and L. Evans, secretary. In October 1908 the Bear Creek Mill Company took over the company's sawmill, but the Leakesville Lumber Company continued to do the logging. |
