History by Gil Hoffman:

On May 3, 1907, the Interstate Lumber Company, of New Orleans, LA, purchased the assets of the D. C. Bacon Company, at Brushy, Greene County for $262,500. Officers of the Interstate Lumber Company were: W. G. Day, president; M. Day, vice president; H. C. Day, secretary, and C. W. Eubanks, treasurer — the same officers as the Day Lumber Company, of Tangipahoa, LA. Timber lands were in Jackson and Greene counties.

On April 1, 1909, the assets of the Interstate Lumber Company were sold to the Day Lumber Company, of New Orleans, LA, for $111,000. At that time Day moved the entire Shipman mill and its equipment to Monroe, in Franklin County, where it was reassembled and run under the name Monroe Lumber Company.
