History
by Tony Howe:
The
Helm & Northwestern Railroad was incorporated on November 28, 1904, and was operated
as a subsidiary of the Y&MV, who leased the railroad on July 1, 1907.
Primary traffic for the railroad was from several sawmills operating
northwest of Helm. The line was abandoned ca 1931.
