History by Gil Hoffman:

In late 1910 Griffin and Sartin purchased the sawmill of the Tiger Lumber Company, at Ovett, Jones County and moved it about two miles to the southeast to Nomac, on the New Orleans, Mobile & Chicago Railroad, also in Jones County. The mill began operations in the fall of 1911.

In March 1912 J. M. Griffin succeeded Griffin & Sartin. A new circular sawmill with a cutting capacity of 60,000 per day was completed at Nomac in late 1913. A logging railroad was also constructed from the mill eastward to Thompson's Creek, in Wayne County. About 1915 the name Nomac was changed to Blodgett.

On July 1, 1921 the mill, railroad and timber were sold to L. O. Crosby and Lamont Rowlands, of Picayune, MS, and renamed the C. & R. Lumber Company.
