History
by Gil Hoffman:
Campen
& Grady was a partnership composed of W. T. Campen and J. S. Grady. In
April 1917 the partners bought several tracts of pine timber in Scott and
Leake counties lying about a mile west of the town of Sebastopol. The
following month the company bought the complete sawmill plant and logging
equipment of W. M. Carter, at Eucutta, MS, and moved the plant to Sebastopol
where it was reassembled. The mill had a cutting capacity of 30,000 feet per
day.
