History
by Tony Howe:
On Nov. 29, 1905, the Bolivar Land & Timber Co. purchased 11469 acres of
timber from W. J. Crawford. This timber was located east of O’Reilly, on the
Y&MV. It appears that much of this timber was eventually sold to the Peavine
Cooperage Co. and Interstate Cooperage Co. The sawmill and logging railroad
of Bolivar Land & Timber was sold to R. S. Tennant of Terre Haute, IN on
April 13, 1907.
Y&MV rail lease for railroad running east from near O’Reilly dated July 15,
1906.
