HISTORY by Tony Howe:
McClures was first listed in railroad timetables as a flag stop in March
1889. A post office was established here as McClure in August 1888. The
first postmaster was William F. McClure. An 85-car siding was first
listed here in May 1893. The post office closed in 1892. The railroad
renamed the location to Tyler in the August 1903 timetable.
