HISTORY by Tony Howe:
Rawles was the location of a flag stop and short spur on the Yazoo &
Mississippi Valley RR. It was named for Major John Rawle, an officer in
Nathan Bedford Forrest's Brigade, and son-in-law of local landowner Fredrick
Stanton.
