HISTORY by Tony Howe:
McNeill was first shown as a flag stop in the New Orleans & Northeastern Railroad timetables in December 1892. It was reportedly named for a local family that came here from North Carolina to operate a turpentine business. The post office was established in April 1891. INDUSTRY -
