History by Gil Hoffman:

E. F. Nunn & Company were primarily a mercantile firm. As early as 1893 the company was operating a yellow pine sawmill at Shuqualak, on the Mobile & Ohio Railroad. In 1913 a logging railroad was constructed. In the 1920s H. H. Evans was general manager and James A. Sanders was mill superintendent.

The mill cut out about August 1924 after which all machinery and locomotives were put up for sale. About May 1926 the mill burned.
