The New Orleans, St. Louis
& Chicago Railroad was created by merger in 1874 of the New Orleans,
Jackson & Great Northern and the Mississippi Central Ry.
The railroad was split in May, 1877 into the New Orleans, Jackson
& Northern and the Central Mississippi, which then merged in November,
1877 to form the Chicago, St. Louis & New Orleans Railroad.
