HISTORY:
The railroad from Metcalfe, near Greenville, to Rosedale, MS was sold by Illinois Central Gulf RR to the Port of Rosedale in 1981. The Great River Railroad was then formed to operate this rail line. The railroad has been embargoed and out of service since 2001. In 2020, the Chicago Rock Island & Pacific RR, LLC announced plans to rehabilitate the line. |
