History by Tony Howe: In early 1911 the Memphis Shingle Company amended its charter to change its name to Memphis Lumber & Shingle Company and to increase its capital stock from $10,000 to $60,000. The principal incorporators were E. A. Neely and C. D. Hendrickson.  Apparently the Memphis Lumber & Shingle Company was succeeded by the Arcola Hardwood Lumber Company.
