History by Gil Hoffman:

Wetherbee & Hood was a co-partnership composed of Charles P. Wetherbee and James R. Hood. In 1893 their sawmill had a cutting capacity of 50,000 feet per day and cut longleaf yellow pine. The plant included a planing mill. About April 1893 Wetherbee sold his interest in the mill to Hood. On January 4, 1896, Hood sold the mill site to the Yellow Pine Lumber Co., of Yellow Pine, Alabama.
