History by Gil Hoffman and Tony Howe:

The H. Weston Lumber Company was incorporated at Logtown, in Hancock County, with branch in New Orleans, LA, on February 20, 1889, by Henry Weston, Asa G. Weston and H. S. Weston with authorized capital stock of $150,000. After many years of river logging, the company built a logging railroad about 1903, which was extended northward to a connection with the New Orleans & Northeastern Railroad at Picayune. It was later extended southeastward to a connection with the Louisville & Nashville Railroad at Ansley by the early 1920's. The mill operated until about 1929, when it was sold to the T. Hoffman-Olsen Lumber Co. who used it, along with the former Weston railroad, to cut tracts of hardwood timber along the river.

Builder's photo of Baldwin 2-6-0 No. 11, a handsome engine indeed!

This mill was situated south of the commissary at Logtown.

An outstanding photo of  H. Weston Lumber Co. #4 and crew with the tracklaying train. This is the only record of engine #4, but is thought to possibly have come from the Gulf & Ship Island RR.

What is thought to be an H Weston Lumber Co. log train and loader. Looks like hardwood logs to me.

What is thought to be H. Weston Lumber Co. #6. The engine in the photo is definitely a Porter 2-6-0, however.
