HISTORY by Tony Howe:

Mitchell was first listed in the 5-11-1884 employee timetable for the NO&NE as having a 57 car siding. The name was changed to Richardson in the 8-2-1903 timetable. It was named for the D. C. Richardson-Taylor Lumber Co., a Louisiana operation that bought the sawmill at Richardson, Mississippi. After a succession of failed owners, the mill finally cut out in 1912. The railroad siding was extended in 1913, and was removed by 1939.
