History by Tony Howe: The last of three large mills built by the William Buchanan interests in the Jena vicinity was the Tall Timber Lumber Co. Construction on the mill started in mid-1913 and was completed in January 1914. The 150,000 ft/day capacity mill was built adjacent to the Good Pine Lumber Co. The Tall Timber Lumber Co. was consolidated with the Good Pine Lumber Co. about January 1927.
