HISTORY by Tony Howe:

The Minden Railroad & Compress Co was incorporated Aug 22, 1882 and built a railroad from Minden, La. to Sibley, La., a distance of 5.25 miles. The name was changed to the Arkansas Louisiana & Southern Railway on July 9, 1898. The railroad was extended from Minden to Cotton Valley, La., 17.35 miles, in 1898. The railroad was then sold to the Louisiana & Arkansas Railroad on June 14, 1900.
