History by Gil Hoffman:

The Geneva Lumber Company was incorporated at Geneva, Covington County (later Jefferson Davis County) on July 25, 1903, by Randolph Batson, Nathaniel Batson and Henry T. McGehee with authorized capital stock of $10,000. Henry McGehee was president and L. F. Batson, secretary and treasurer. In addition to a sawmill, the company operated a cotton gin.

On September 17, 1908, the sawmill and 25,000,000 feet of timber were sold to the Moore-Hagerty Lumber Company, of Hattiesburg. At the time the mill had been shut down for several months.
