History by Gil Hoffman:

The Garrett-Turpin Lumber Company was a partnership composed of O. D. Garrett and Dr. Frank W. Garrett, both of Liberty Center, Ind., and Thomas Turpin, of Greenwood, MS. In July 1916 the company bought the sawmill and timber holdings near Greenwood, MS, of the Bluffton Land & Lumber Company, of Bluffton, IN. In 1917 the sawmill had a cutting capacity of 30,000 feet per day.

On July 22, 1918 the company sold its mill at Greenwood, on the Yazoo & Mississippi Valley Railroad, to the Kraetzer-Cured Lumber Company. In the spring of 1919 the logging railroad was sold to the Churchill-Milton Lumber Company, of Greenwood.
