The Brown-Everts Lumber Company was incorporated in Tennessee in May 1919 with $200,000 in capital stock. The company took over the manufacturing end of the Brown Land & Lumber Company, which owned hardwood bandmills at Helena, AR, and Allen, MS. Officers of the company were: L. E. Brown, of Rhinelander, Wisc., president; G. W. Everts, of Memphis, TN, vice president and general manager; L. M. Borgess, of Chicago, Secretary, and E. S. Everts, of Memphis, treasurer.
